Rocsteadi Apparel - Edition 33

Night City just got a major free upgrade.

CD Projekt Red dropped Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.5 (the Edgerunners 2 Update) on October 22, 2026, for PC (Steam, GOG, Epic), Mac (most storefronts), PS5/PS5 Pro, and Xbox Series X|S, with Nintendo Switch 2 and the Mac App Store version following shortly after. Timed to the Netflix premiere of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Season 2, it goes well beyond a simple anime tie-in.

Edgerunners Content: Prequel Quest, Gear, and Soundtrack

The headline story addition is the new side quest Clampdown, set before the events of Edgerunners 2. It’s framed as the last job of King’s team and features characters including Emily, Meshuga, and Miguel, with voice actors from the Netflix series reprising their roles. It was written with input from people involved in the show.

How to unlock it: Complete The Heist and two gigs for Wakako, then wait for a message from her.

Completing it rewards a new 5-piece gear set based on King (including pieces like a distinctive coat, glasses, and a pistol).

There’s also a brand-new radio station, HKGN 102.0 FM, packing a selection of tracks (around 16) from both seasons of the Edgerunners anime.

Dual-Wielding: The New Double Trouble Playstyle

After years of requests, you can finally dual-wield. The new Double Trouble perk in the Cool skill tree (plus four supporting perks) lets V equip and fight with two Power-category pistols or revolvers at once. It creates a dedicated gunslinger playstyle focused on high-volume sidearm firepower rather than applying to every weapon type.

Photo Mode gets new dual-wielding poses so you can capture the style, plus frames inspired by the Cyberpunk Trading Card Game.

Cyberware Customization via Glamdocs

Hand cyberware is now fully restylable. Equip Mantis Blades, Gorilla Arms, Monowire, or the Projectile Launch System, then visit one of five new Glamdocs (marked with a spray-paint icon on the map). Each has its own unique shop, voiced intro scene, and catalog of skins. There are dozens of options (reports mention ~40 styles), with brand-specific designs plus customizable colors and decals.

Fashion, Hairstyles, and Vehicle Skins

Night City’s clothing vendors stock several new looks:

  • Five new outfit sets (Maxiwear in Heywood/Arroyo/Little China, Jinguji in City Center, NetWatch in Kabuki/Japantown, IconAmerica in Pacifica/Badlands/Northside, and one more arriving a bit later).
  • The NUS Infiltrator set is now available in Kabuki and Japantown.
  • Previously NPC-only hairstyles are now usable by V (some restricted by masculine/feminine body type).
  • Four new TWINTONE skins for the Quadra Turbo-R V-Tech, available via Twitch Drops.

More Story and Exploration

Welcome to Paradise is a new side quest: a guided tour of Night City narrated by founder Richard Night, with an underlying mystery. Unlock it after The Heist and reaching Street Cred level 15. It’s described as a more relaxed, lore-heavy experience.

There’s also an extension of the existing Fool on the Hill quest with 12 new Minor Arcana Tarot Cards scattered around the city. Scan any to start collecting; the Tarot menu now separates Major and Minor Arcana. Collect them all for a special reward.

Cross-Platform Mod Support

Update 2.5 introduces official cross-platform mod support powered by mod.io. Browse and install a curated selection of player-created mods directly from an in-game menu on PC, Mac, PS5, PS5 Pro, Xbox Series X|S, and Switch 2 (once it arrives). More mods will be added over time. On consoles, modded saves are flagged and achievements/trophies are disabled for those files—similar to the approach used in The Witcher 3’s next-gen update.

Quality of Life and Technical Upgrades

QoL improvements:

  • Load Game saves are now grouped by separate playthroughs.
  • Item filters for apartment and vehicle stashes.
  • FOV slider finally available on consoles.
  • Updated AMD FSR options (FSR 3 upscaling removed; FSR 2.1, FSR 4, and FSR 3.1 Frame Generation remain).
  • Modded-save icons and updated CDPR Account/telemetry menus.

Technology:

  • Full DLSS 4.5 support on PC, including up to 6X Multi Frame Generation (or Dynamic) and the 2nd Generation Transformer Model.
  • Glasses-free 3D support on compatible Samsung Odyssey 3D monitors, with a Motion Comfort setting.
  • MetalFX Frame Interpolation and Denoising on Mac.
  • FSR Anti-Lag 2 toggle.
  • Performance optimizations, including for ray tracing and PS5 Pro.
  • Improved HDR rendering for better color, brightness, and contrast.

The patch also includes various bug fixes (Switch 2 save issues, HDR adjustments on PS5, Delamain cab problems, film grain, scanning controls, typos, and more since Patch 2.1).

The Bottom Line

This is far more than a promotional update. Dual-wielding, proper cyberware cosmetics, official console-friendly mod support, new story content tied to Edgerunners 2, a new radio station, collectibles, and meaningful technical upgrades (especially DLSS 4.5 and the long-requested console FOV slider) make Update 2.5 one of the more substantial free additions the game has received in a while. Night City still has plenty left to offer—even years after launch.

The update is free for all owners of the base game. If you’ve been away from Night City, this is a solid reason to jack back in.
